Enzo's Nursery

Friday, June 29, 2012

When I found out I was pregnant, I couldn't help but plan the nursery.  I knew exactly what I wanted.

Matt didn't care, so I have full reigns.

I knew I wanted a gender-neutral nursery that we could re-use with each child.  Here are some pictures with details on where everything came from, hope you enjoy:

The bedroom was already chocolate brown and had my old furniture from before we were married.  One thing you will learn from me is that I love a good deal, garage sales, craigslist, etc.  I get that from my mom.  Love taking something old and making it new to me.

The crib is from craigslist, night stand and bed is from my old set.  I found the crib fabric at Hancock's and had the bumper, skirt and pillow (on the bed) made custom.

Above the bed is a charcoal painting of me using my father's blanket.  On the bottom right is a picture of Matt when he was a toddler, then some printouts I found searching on pinterest.

The chair is perfect for bedtime stories.  I have had the chairs for awhile, given to me from dear family friends.  They are old, originally stained dark brown and had a pinkish fabric. My mom spray painted this one white and I had both re-covered in the khaki fabric.  You have probably seen some pictures of Enzo in the matching one that isn't painted.  We keep it in another room.

Above the chair is my father's charcoal painting with the same blanket.  We plan to do the same with Enzo.

Since Matt is from New York, I always try to incorporate parts of his heritage.  I loved this canvas of the flat iron building that i picked up at Ross.  The toy basket is also from Ross.

This was my desk as well from when I was younger.  I was afraid it was a little feminine, but I'm pretty sure Enzo doesn't care!  I just hated to get rid of one useful piece when we were using the matching night stand and dresser (which we put in the closet to save room).  Yes, you are seeing it right....I let me husband convince me that he needed a TV in the nursery for the late night feedings.  Haha.

I love how the nursery came out.  The gender-neutral colors make it feel very relaxing and calm.  Here is a picture of Enzo the day we brought him home from the hospital, first time in his bed:

If you have any questions on where I purchased or what I did to anything, please let me know!

I hope you enjoy Enzo's nursery as much as I do.
